Clayton Coleman joined J-Mack Technologies as the COO/CTO in 2019. Over 30 years in software development and enterprise systems engineering experience fuels Clayton’s leadership and drive to solve complex problems with innovative solutions for J-Mack and its clients. As a self-proclaimed Geek, Clayton has a passion for building effective teams and delivering incredible solutions; however, in his personal time he enjoys science fiction in all media, building electronics & 3D printing as well as woodworking in his shop.
Starting in the early nineties as a web developer, Clayton has held significant roles across a diverse set of projects and programs. In 2011, Clayton started the Veteran’s Benefits Management System (VBMS) as the Government Lead Systems Engineer, building a heterogenous platform with over 450 teammates executing over $100M budget for the VA Office of Information Technology. Before that, he served as the Chief Architect for CH33 Long Term Solution, lead a Congressional innovation grant, and lead several engineering, software and innovation programs.
Clayton received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Newberry College in South Carolina before continuing his education as an acquisitions professional in the Navy, acquiring DAU Systems Engineer III. His success on VBMS won Clayton the FCW Top 100. During his distinguished career, he has also been published by the IEEE for “The Next Step in Information Sharing: The Distributed Alerts Dissemination Backbone” and awarded a patent for Enterprise Identity Orchestration Server.
